If your looking for a pet please rememeber that a pet is a lifetime commitment. That is the pets life and that can go up to 20+ years depending on the pet. Please be sure to include your pet in your will to be sure the pet is properly taken care of.

Please check the rescues and shelters first. In todays ecomony many people are taking great pets to shelters and rescues. Please be sure to check the referances of the shelter and rescue because in todays worl there are those who take the good and turn it bad.

There is nothing wrong with wanting a pet from a breeder. However please be an educated consumer. Research your breed and learn about it. Research the breeder. To find a responbonsible breeder will take time, work and paintence but it is much more rewarding. Once you find a responsible breeder you willhave a wait list as well. So if you need a pet now a shelter or rescue is your best bet.

If you need a pet now ask yourself WHY. Impulse descions are usaly not hte best when your ooking at a 15+ year commitment. A shelter or rescue will be your best bet if you do not want to do the work or wait the time for a responsible breeder.

giving a pet as a gift should be avoied as well. It's a well inteneded sweet idea that can go bad. W

Please avoid free pets. There is a reason a 'wonderful hate to part with' pet is free. While there are often very good pets availbe free they will come with health records and already be altered.

You see so many people looking for a free pet. Everyone wants something for free. What worries me is what the people are
going to do with the 'free' pet when it turns out that it is costing much money to raise. Please, if you are one of those
people who want a free kitten or puppy please take a moment and ask if you are prepared to pay what it takes to raise
that pet into a healthy happy adult.

There is nothing wrong with being on a budget, everyone is these days. But no pet is ever free.

Another thing is that when you get that accidentally bred, accidental litter kitten or puppy then you are telling this person
to go ahead and do not alter your pet. This is because those free to home ads are there because people answer them
and for some it is easier to not take care of their pet and breed more then it is to have them altered. Please do not
condone this behavior.

Keep in mind that when you get that free kitten/puppy he needs to go to the vet first before going home ESPECIALLY if
you have other pets at home already. Here is what a kitten or puppy will need during it's first year. (Not including food
etc)
